Enhanced Upskilling Workshop - Storytelling For Your Career

  • CIC St. Louis 4240 Duncan Ave St. Louis United States (map)

Building Careers Through Connection, Practice, and Story

This monthly, two-hour professional development and networking series is designed specifically for cybersecurity and technology trainees who are actively seeking their first role—and for experienced professionals who want to give back, mentor, and help shape the next generation of talent.

Each session brings together graduates from multiple technical training programs, creating a rare opportunity for peers from different backgrounds to connect, share best practices, and build relationships beyond their own cohorts. The focus isn’t just on technical ability—it’s on learning how to clearly communicate your story, practice real-world professional skills, and build authentic relationships that lead to opportunity.

The evening blends structured programming with intentional networking. Attendees will hear from experienced leaders, practice new career storytelling techniques in a low-pressure environment, receive direct feedback from mentors, and spend meaningful time building connections over dinner. Mentors and employers will have the chance to meet motivated early-career professionals, offer guidance, and help participants sharpen how they present themselves in interviews and professional conversations.

Whether you’re a trainee looking to stand out in a competitive job market, or a mentor looking to make a tangible impact while connecting with emerging talent, this series is built to create value for everyone in the room.
