John F. Petrie III

Counselor to the NTT CISO, NTT Corporation

John Petrie is the Counselor to the NTT CISO at NTT Corporation.  His current responsibilities are the harmonization of security technologies and standards across NTT’s portfolio of businesses. Prior to his current assignment, John was the CEO of the Americas Region for NTT Security, responsible for Canada, UnitedStates, Central and South American business. Prior to appointment to CEO, he was the Global Chief InformationSecurity Officer for NTT Security, responsible for the overall global information security strategy and the management of the information security management system (ISMS).

He is an accomplished senior executive with more than 26 years of success in the manufacturing, financial services, defense, technology, security, telecommunications, education and healthcare industries.John is a valuable asset for companies seeking guidance on decisions leading to opportunities, minimizing security breaches and identifying the needs of the vertical marketplace. His areas of expertise include information security strategy, information security policy development, risk management, analysis and mitigation, security compliance and enterprise information security operations.  John is an accomplished speaker, instructor, and writer and the author of “From Private to CEO (AndSome Stuff In Between)” (October 15, 2019).

John holds an MBA in Information Systems from City University; a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Arts from the University of the State of New York and is a graduate of the Defense Intelligence College in Washington D.C.  He holds multiple industry certifications including Certified InformationSystems Security Professional (CISSP).

Michael Shalyt

Head of Algorithms, Cycognito

Michael Shalyt, head of algorithms at Cycognito, is an expert in productizing AI. He holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics, Masters degree in Quantum Computing, published 2 scientific articles and a patent, and has been coding from the age of 8. Prior to joining Cycognito Michael co-founded 2 startups, one in the area of industrial cyber security and physical signal processing (Aperio Systems) and another applying deep reinforcement learning to test automation (EVO.DO). Michael gave multiple talks, wrote articles and taught courses in cybersecurity.

Luis Arzu

CISO, Urban One and Global Center for Cybersecurity Member

Luis started his career in technology with Per Scholas in 1996 working as a computer technician in training. At Per Scholas Luis was introduced to the world of hardware and software as he built and repaired computers for schools. In 1998 Luis, moved on to Rabobank International where he progressed through various leadership positions in information technology, application development & support and security operations, including serving as Rabobank America’s Information Security Officer. Luis then served in the role of Manager of Cyber Security and Risk Management for United Technologies Corporation. In this role, Luis was primarily responsible for delivering analytics-based security solutions focused on boosting the organization’s security posture. Luis is also the former Chief Information Security Officer at Farm Credit Financial Partners, Inc. Today Luis is the Chief Information Security Officer of Urban One, Inc., the largest distributor of urban content in the country. In this capacity, Luis is responsible for establishing and maturing next generation enterprise-wide cybersecurity risk management programs and capabilities. He also sits as part of the faculty at Western Governors University where he teaches Cybersecurity at the master’s and undergrad level.

Luis holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Thomas Edison State University; a master’s degree in Information Security & Assurance from Western Governors University; a master’s in IT Management also from Western Governors University and an Executive master’s in business administration from the University of Connecticut.
